What Do You Want to Be When You Grow-Up?

We’re often asked as children, what we want to be when we grow-up. Unfortunately, for some, that answer changes frequently as we enter adulthood. Choosing the perfect career is not easy, but here are some tips that will guide you along the way:

Explore

Explore, explore, explore; Life is all about experiencing new things. Picking a career path may not be easy for some people, so it’s important to research. Don’t be afraid to take some time off and truly identify with what you would like to start a career in. Keep in mind, that you are the person who will be working, and not the person throwing suggestions into your ears.

Spend time discovering yourself. Learn what truly makes you happy, and what you cannot see yourself living without. Make a list of your passions, ambitions, and determine what career will most suit your lifestyle. Never rush into anything uncertain, and remember that there is no such time as wasted time.

Enjoy the Process

Life is full of different seasons. Although we may find ourselves in a position we don’t want to be in the long-term, it’s important to find joy in the presence. When a person dwells on the bad, they limit themselves from moving forward, because they are so focused on every negative aspect concerning their current situation.

Aligning yourself with things and people that make you happy leaves no room for bad vibes or pity parties. Surrounding yourself with love serves as motivation to keep striving toward goals and dreams in life. Part of enjoying the process is experiencing growth in different areas; with growth, a new mindset is created, which helps a person stay focused and determined.

Keep the Negative Energy Away!

If you’re currently not sure about the Career choices you have made, consider playing “KeepWOL About Your Career” and see how your answers and the answers of others redirect your path. Unfortunately, everyone can’t go where you’re designated to be in life. Everyone has different paths, and some people will simply not understand your dreams and aspirations; this is why it’s important to protect your heart and keep the negative energy away. Do not let people, whether it’s your close friends or family, discourage you from your goals. Learn to express, but also refrain yourself from saying things to people who may not be supportive of your career goals.

Life is full of challenges, but there’s always a rainbow on the other side. Keep striving toward your joy and learn to love every minute of the journey. Keep in mind that your stories will encourage other people, and never give up on yourself or goals!
